Who We Are

C-R Kids began under their parent company C-R Productions founded and still operated by Jim Charles and Tony Rivera. C-R Kids began as a small company which produced award winning creative dramatics, dance, and musical theatre at the Cohoes Music Hall in the Capital Region of New York. In 2006, C-R Kids was established as a premier children’s theatre showcasing the integrity and professionalism shadowing the leadership of C-R Productions. C-R Kids’ reputation was built on a history of presenting classic musical theatre productions, educational programming, summer camps and workshops, in addition to its extraordinary accomplishments in the areas of scenic, lighting and costume design. For 10 years, Jim Charles and Tony Rivera with C-R Kids have created extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge, and inspire young people and their communities. C-R Kids is also the first theatre for young people to produce Intergenerational programs (C-R Generations) and also work alongside people with disabilities (C-R Center Stars.) C-R Kids has also recently welcomed an all-inclusive company of young actors from Saratoga County forming C-R Kids North and a partnership with Saratoga Springs School District and WSWHE Boces forming Saratoga Regional Youth Arts.

Our Mission

To nurture, advance and create a community of young artists, fortifying their lives and those of their families, schools, communities and beyond, through the study and performance of theatre.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every child has access to drama and theatre; be it a municipal program, a community youth theatre, or school theatre arts curriculum. We imagine a time when the theatre arts inspire young people and families to lead lives of respectability, courage, and curiosity. We celebrate the determination and creativity of artists, teachers, and leaders who are committed to transforming education through the arts.
